Projection of natural
scenarios over a 180 degrees wide screen background with quadraphonic sound
provides a realistic setting for the simulated shot training. Live animated
targets are projected against the background with movements adapted to
the terrain in a convincing way.
The shooter uses his own
personal hand gun which is loaded with a special
laser
cartridge that starts to radiate an invisible infrared light when the
shotgun is closed or the rifle bolt lever is operated. The light beam communicates
triggering as well as gun movement to the detection circuits in the console
where powerful sound synthesis and hit calculation software are cued by
the operation of the trigger.
The simulator provides instant
feed back of the shot
result with a visual indication of hit or miss against the background,
at the same time as all the relevant parameters including gun movement
before and after triggering are graphically drawn on the console monitor
screen. Each completed shot series is instantly linked from the simulator
to an external PC, enabling the shooter to retrieve the data and continue
the process of learning by repeatedly viewing his own or others performance
in the HitSim Analyser
program.
You may experiment with settings
such as calibre and choke, various types of ammunition including charge
weight, velocity, size of pellets and type of charge metal. But above all
you will learn to consider target movement and distance, train on gun mounting
techniques and finding the correct forward lead for appropriate charge
delivery. Regardless of previous experience or level of training you will
find that the simulator offers challenges and efficient training which
no other method of practising can match due to its unsurpassed level of
feed back.
The simulator is brutally
honest in its reply to performance, and hence it requires an open mind
and a good portion of natural self respect to deal with. Above all, simulator
shooting is great fun!
